How to get a clear understanding of your assay data?

How to analyze and Validate your assay data?

Analyzing and validating results in Discngine Qualification

Discngine Qualification provides visual representations of your plates allowing you to have a better understanding of your ALHS performance. The application helps you save time by shortening QA/QC processes and centralizing any kind of format that can be encounter when using different lab equipment. We cover a wide range of formats and the application can be upgraded to handle new formats upon request.

There are five different ways the data can be displayed in DIscngine Qualification, explained below. These provide various visual representations of the data to better understand your results. A lateral sidebar allows you to filter information according your needs.

1. Well-based display: The plate representations are displayed on a one-by-one basis. You can navigate from one to another via the left and right arrows. You can choose to visualize your data as either optical density or volume. A Z-score graph is also displayed to give an overview of the values dispersion around the target volume.

2. Column- and row-based display: The graphical representation gives statistics on accuracy and precision of plates' rows and columns. Based on volume average and CV for every column and row of the plate you will be able to highlight possible evaporation issues, or other problems related to the assay environment.

Column and row based standpoint

3. Quadrant-based display: This option is only available during a reformatting operation when the number of pipetting heads is four times less than the number of wells in the plate. It presents a different perspective of plates and reveals potential errors related to the quadruple liquid transfer. You can choose between Volume average and the Relative Error depending on the information you need.

4. Plate-based display: The graphical representation compares the statistics for each plate. This display allows you to easily identify an anomaly that may appear on a single plate. This provides an interesting general overview of your analysis.

5. A Channels-based standpoint: The graphical representations compare the performance of the channels. This perspective helps in detecting unusual behavior from one channel, and can more precisely isolate a deficient pipetting head.

Thus, depending on the information you need to display, you should be able to observe if there is any unexpected behavior or dispensing bias from your liquid handling platform. After reviewing all the data, you can continue by clicking on the “Next” button to access the summary section, where you can publish and track your analysis over time.
